Buenos Aires, November 15 (NA) -- This Saturday, November 15, marks one year since the body of Sofía Delgado, 20, was found dead on a rural road in Ricardone, Santa Fe. However, despite the time that has passed, the accused remain in pretrial detention and the case remains open. According to the Argentine News Agency, based on local media reports, on November 10, Judge Eugenio Romanini extended the pretrial detention of Brian Bauman, Eduardo Mordini, and Alejandro Bevilacqua for 180 days, until at least May 7, 2026. Meanwhile, the prosecution maintains that the crime was planned, as Bevilacqua, who was in a romantic relationship with Sofía, allegedly drove her in his Peugeot 308 to Mordini's warehouse in Puerto General San Martín, where the victim was mechanically asphyxiated. Bauman, an employee of the workshop, then allegedly tied Sofía's body, wrapped it in thermal insulation, placed it in a jute bag, and abandoned it in a ditch 700 meters from a rural road. During the searches, properties were inspected and traces were lifted, while the cell phones of the detainees were seized and biological traces, as well as material of interest to the case, were collected. On the anniversary of the crime, Sofía's family and human rights organizations are demanding justice, while the investigation continues to analyze DNA samples, and anthropologist Juan Nóbile has been appointed as a supervisor to oversee the custody of the evidence.
